AMCi November 2015 News Flash

It seemed like only yesterday when we were all engulfed in a heat wave in the U.S.. For many of us, this has changed significantly in the past couple of weeks. It seems the winter is now well and truly on our doorstep and with it comes Thanksgiving and the holiday season.

AMCi-Wireless has been well known as a provider of satellite equipment, and quite correctly so, as we have specialized in this extensively over the years. This does lead us on to another of AMCi’s products, the Cellular Monitoring Unit or CMU which we would like to share a little more information about today.

The CMU has many of the same functionalities as AMCI’s satellite products as well as the same access to SatAlarm®-Server and our 24/7 Technical Support team. The cellular product is able to transfer significantly larger data packages, more often and for a lower cost than the satellite product, so it can be a great alternative in areas of good cell coverage.

As with the satellite products, the CMU comes with the following features:

  • Uses the same communication protocols, such as RS232 and RS485 Modbus
  • Has digital and analog I/O inputs and outputs
  • Comes in an enclosure with battery and solar power included so site power is not required

AMCi-Wireless had a booth at the recent Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition (LAGCOE) at the Cajun Dome. It was a fantastic chance to meet with some of our existing customers as well as share our products and capabilities with some new customers.

AMCi was proud to share our display with our new business partner, Rugid Computer, Inc. Please check out their line of RTU/PLCs and wireless sensor network products at www.rugidcomputer.com.

This partnership further increases AMCi’s capability to carry out control functions in the field with products such as the Smart SMU and Smart CMU.

Thanks to those who dropped by the booth. It is always great to see our customers at these events.

AMCi-Wireless will be attending several important shows in the new year, the first being the 20th annual Gas Compressor Association (GCA) conference from Monday March 21—23, 2016 at the Moody Gardens Convention Center in Galveston, Texas.

We will return to you in the new year with the January edition of the AMCi Newsflash, so in the meantime, we at AMCi-Wireless wish you and your families a safe and happy holiday season.

We look forward to serving you long into the future and as always, we are extremely grateful for your ongoing business.

The AMCi-Wireless team.

AMCi-Wireless REST (representational state transfer) API

REST (REpresentational State Transfer) is an architectural style, and an approach to communications that is often used in the development of Web Services. This is widely used by companies such as Amazon, Microsoft and Google.

AMCi has deployed a REST API that will help you integrate SatAlarm-Server data into your applications. For example, you can find the latest status of all your terminals and update your internal SCADA application, load the data into your favorite charting tool, or create your own custom report.

To view the REST API resources available, along with the correct formats for the supported methods, access this URL: https://api.satalarm.com:8443/rest/ swagger/index.html
